Backup & Restore

Exports are encrypted (AES-256-GCM) with this server's database secret — the same secret that protects the live database. To restore an export on any server, that server must have the exact same LICENSESCW_DB_SECRET (or local-secret.key) that was active when the export was created. A different secret cannot decrypt it. Store exported files with the same care as the secret itself: anyone with both can read every license key and customer record.
